Q: I want to lose fat and gain some muscle. I’ve been told that I need to eat large amounts of protein every day to put on muscle mass. If I fast for weight loss wont it cause me to lose muscle?
A: Not with Eat Stop Eat. As long as you are working out with strength training exercises you will not lose muscle. In fact, it is even possible to gain muscle while following Eat Stop Eat.

Q: I’m really enjoying adding this style of intermittent fasting into my eating plan, but I’d still like to clean up the way I eat when I’m not fasting, any tips?

A: With Eat Stop Eat you can incorporate any diet style you like. My personal opinion is that the general guideline of eating ‘lean and green’ with lots of fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices is an ideal complement to the Eat Stop Eat lifestyle, but you can incorporate any diet style you wish and still see fantastic results

Q: What are things I can do other than fasting to help me lose fat?

A: My recommendation would be to look for small changes you can make in the way you eat when you are not fasting. Once you have gone without food for 24 hours a couple of times, you really start to get a feel for the real reasons behind why you eat, what you eat and when you eat.

Often times, hunger isn’t one of these reasons. Habit and emotional connection are usually the culprits. If you take this new found wisdom, you can create a big difference in the way you eat by making SMALL, almost unnoticeable changes in your eating habits.

Q: Can you guarantee that I will lose fat if I buy your book?

A: No. Eat Stop Eat does NOT have a weight loss guarantee. Anyone who does is scamming you. Any effective Weight loss program requires you to eat less and exercise more. when you purchase Eat Stop Eat what you get is a book outlining all the principles you need to be very successful at losing weight and keeping it off, but it’s up to YOU to actually put these principles into action.

Q: Do you think the Eat Stop Eat lifestyle would be beneficial to someone who is simply trying to maintain his or her current weight?
A: Yes. Eat Stop Eat provides a simple way to lost weight, and to also maintain your weight. The trick is in the timing.

Q: Are you saying you INVENTED intermittent fating?

A: No, that would be silly. Fasting has been arond for, well, a really, really long time. I was one of the first people to write about intermittent fasting back in 2006, and Eat Stop Eat is highly recognized as a leading resource on the research behind fasting as well as being my own particular method of fasting for weight loss. So I wrote Eat Stop Eat, and I’m Intermittent fasting advocate, but no one ‘invented’ fasting.

Q: Can’t I just learn everything I need to know about intermittent fasting by searching on-line?

A: Sure. There are over 240 peer-reviewed published scientific studies in Eat Stop Eat. It is based on incredibly sound PUBLISHED scientific literature (I’m not making anything up). So yes, if you wanted to spend a year or two reviewing research like I did then you could find almost all of this information on-line. If you had the right access to the research, but Eat Stop Eat is just a faster and easier way to get that access. Also, there is intermittent fasting then there is Eat Stop Eat. It’s the same but different. Calling Eat Stop Eat intermittent fasting is like calling the Paleo diet “low carb”.

Q: I’ve read that high protein diets can help with weight loss. Can I eat a high protein diet while doing Eat Stop Eat?
A: Yes. With Eat Stop Eat HOW you eat is completely your choice. There are several published research studies suggesting that a higher amount of dietary protein might be associated with an increased rate of weight loss (As long as the diet is calorie reduced). Most of the research I’ve reviewed have had people eat between 70 and 150 grams of protein per day (not the crazy 250 grams of protein per day suggestions that you find in fitness magazines). If you like, you can definitely try eating a higher protein diet while using Eat Stop Eat.
